Data Deletion

Delete Your Data

Most of your FocusBun data — tasks, preferences, rewards — lives only on your device. Two small records (your introductory-access start date and your verified-purchase entitlement) are kept in Cloud Firestore against an anonymous identifier. Below is how to delete both.

Last updated: May 1, 2026

The short version

FocusBun has no user accounts — we never ask for your name, email, or any personal information. Your tasks, preferences, and rewards live on your device only. To delete everything, including the two small Firestore records described below and your anonymous Firebase identifier, open Settings → Reset all data inside the app. Uninstalling alone removes only the on-device data; the Firestore records and anonymous identifier persist until you reset (or email us at [email protected] to request deletion).

How to delete your data

Option 1 — Reset within the app (recommended)

Open FocusBun → Settings → Reset all data. This deletes:

  • All tasks, focus sessions, streaks, badges, points, nickname, theme, and chime preferences (on-device)
  • The Firestore trial record (trials/<anonymous-id>)
  • The Firestore entitlement record (users/<anonymous-id>/entitlements/<product>)
  • The anonymous Firebase Authentication user itself

This is the most complete option — it removes both on-device and server-side data. Age-gate and consent preferences are preserved so you do not have to re-pass them.

Option 2 — Uninstall the app

Removing FocusBun from your device deletes all locally stored data. However, the two small Firestore records and the anonymous Firebase identifier are NOT removed by an uninstall. To delete those too, use Option 1 inside the app first, or email us at [email protected] after uninstall to request server-side deletion.

Option 3 — Email request

If you no longer have access to the app, email [email protected] with your purchase receipt and we will delete the corresponding Firestore records within 30 days. (Without a receipt we cannot match a specific anonymous identifier to a request.)

What gets deleted

What server-side data exists

Two small Firestore records keyed by an anonymous identifier — the introductory-access start date (trials/<anonymous-id>) and the verified-purchase entitlement (users/<anonymous-id>/entitlements/<product-id>). The anonymous identifier is generated at random by Google Firebase Authentication and is not derived from your name, email, advertising identifier, or any other personal information. Both records, and the anonymous identifier itself, are deletable through Option 1 above.

Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics (opt-in only) collect anonymous diagnostics (crash logs, app interactions, device identifiers) which are not linked to any personal identity. You can opt out at any time in Settings. These are handled by Google under their standard data retention policies (Analytics: 14 months; Crashlytics: 90 days) and cannot be individually requested for deletion.

Purchase transactions: held by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store under their respective privacy policies. This data is tied to your store account, not to a FocusBun identifier, and cannot be deleted through us.

FocusBun Premium purchase

FocusBun Premium is a one-time purchase — there is no subscription and nothing to cancel. If you uninstall and later reinstall the app, you can restore your purchase at no additional cost using the “Restore Purchases” option on the upgrade screen. To request a refund, contact Apple or Google directly.
