Tendence is a grief support app made by Fundy Digital. We built it to help families through one of life's hardest moments. This policy explains what information the app handles and how.
What information the app collects
Tendence collects two kinds of information when you use the Tribute Builder feature:
- The name, age, and details about the person who has died (such as personality, memories, career, and relationships) that you type in response to the tribute questions.
- Your responses to up to 20 guided questions about the deceased.
The funeral checklist feature stores only your task completion progress. No personal details are entered or stored by that feature.
How your information is used
Your tribute answers are used for one purpose only:
- They are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI model to generate three personalized memorial tributes for you to review, edit, and save.
We do not sell or share your personal data. Tribute session data is stored locally on your device and is automatically deleted after 30 days.
Where your information is stored
All data entered in Tendence is stored only on your device using encrypted secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). We do not operate servers or databases that store your personal information.
When you generate tributes, your answers are transmitted to our Cloudflare Worker proxy, which forwards them to Anthropic's API to produce the tribute text. This transmission is encrypted (HTTPS). We do not log or retain this data beyond the duration of the API call.
Third-party services
Tendence uses the following third-party services:
- Anthropic Claude API — processes your tribute answers to generate memorial text. Data is transmitted to Anthropic's servers in the United States. See their privacy policy.
- Firebase Crashlytics — collects anonymous crash reports (device model, OS version, stack traces) to improve app stability. No personal tribute data is included.
- Firebase Analytics — collects anonymous screen-view and usage analytics. No personally identifiable information is transmitted.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription purchases. Collects an anonymous device ID and purchase history. No tribute data is shared with RevenueCat.
Data retention
Tribute session data is stored locally on your device and automatically expires after 30 days. Checklist progress is stored locally until you clear it. You can delete all local data at any time using the "Clear All Data" button on the home screen.

International data transfers
Tribute answers are transmitted to Anthropic's servers in the United States. Crash reports and analytics data are processed by Google (Firebase) in the United States. By using this app, you consent to the transfer of data to the United States.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of any personal data we hold. Since data is stored locally on your device, you already have full access.
- Deletion: Delete all local data via "Clear All Data" on the home screen, or by uninstalling the app.
- Portability: Your data is stored on your device and can be accessed directly.
- Object to processing: You can stop using the tribute feature at any time.
- Lodge a complaint: EU residents may contact their local Data Protection Authority. California residents may contact the California Attorney General.

Children's privacy
Tendence is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Deleting your data
All data is stored on your device. You can delete it at any time using the Clear All Data option in the app's settings. This removes your checklist progress, tribute answers, and any saved tributes.
There is no account to delete and no data held on our servers.
When you generate a tribute, your answers are sent to Anthropic's AI service for processing. Anthropic handles this data per their own privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and post the revised policy at this URL.
